Disney Believe Is Getting a Playful New Look on Its Stern
Disney Cruise Line has revealed the stern design for the upcoming Disney Believe.
Disney unveiled the new artwork during the Horizons: D23 Disney Experiences Showcase on August 15. It gives us another first look at the ship ahead of its late 2027 debut.
Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Pixar’s Toy Story will be featured on the stern. The larger-than-life sculptures show the two characters working together with oversized yellow crayons as they add the ship’s name across the back.
There’s also something different about the lettering.
Disney Cruise Line typically uses the same familiar script for its ship names. On Disney Believe, the name appears in fun block-style lettering inspired by Toy Story.
The character sculptures on the stern are a familiar part of Disney Cruise Line ships. This time, the design goes a little further by working the ship’s name into the scene with Woody and Buzz.
Disney also shared a few other Disney Believe details during D23.
Tinker Bell will be featured in the ship’s bow artwork. The hand-painted gold filigree will also include silhouettes of characters from Disney’s 1953 animated film Peter Pan, including Peter Pan, Wendy and Captain Hook.
Inside the ship, the Grand Hall will be inspired by Moana. A bronze statue of Moana with Pua and Heihei will be the centerpiece of the space.
Disney Believe will be the fourth ship in Disney Cruise Line’s Wish class, joining Disney Wish, Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny.
The ship is scheduled to begin sailing in late 2027.
