Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Extends Fleet Plans to 2037 With Three More Ships

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has ordered three more cruise ships, one for each of its brands, extending its fleet plans through 2037.
The company announced it has signed an agreement with Fincantieri to build one new ship for Norwegian Cruise Line, one for Oceania Cruises, and one for Regent Seven Seas Cruises. All three ships are expected to be delivered between 2036 and 2037.
If this sounds familiar, that’s because Norwegian has already outlined a steady stream of new ships over the past year. This announcement does not introduce a brand-new class. It adds one more ship to each brand’s existing lineup and secures shipyard space further into the next decade.
For Norwegian Cruise Line, the new vessel will be part of its upcoming next-generation class debuting in 2030. These ships are expected to measure around 227,000 gross tons and carry approximately 5,000 guests, making them the largest in the brand’s history.
Oceania Cruises will receive another Sonata-class ship following Oceania Sonata, which launches in 2027. Regent Seven Seas Cruises will add another Prestige-class ship after Seven Seas Prestige and its planned sister ships.
With this latest order, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings now has 17 ships on order across its three brands. That includes eight ships for Norwegian Cruise Line through 2037, five for Oceania Cruises through 2037, and four for Regent Seven Seas Cruises through 2036.
For cruisers, this is about long-term growth rather than immediate changes. These ships are still about a decade away, and no additional details have been released yet.
What this announcement really shows is that Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings is continuing to expand across all three brands and locking in capacity well into the 2030s.
