Disney Adventure Inaugural Sailing Pushed to March 2026

Disney Cruise Line has confirmed that its highly anticipated new ship, the Disney Adventure, will not make its inaugural sailing this December as originally planned. Instead, the first voyage from Singapore is now scheduled for March 10, 2026.
The change comes just days after the ship left the shipyard for sea trials. Disney cited unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process and said the decision was made to ensure the vessel meets its standards before welcoming guests. In a message sent to impacted guests, Disney Cruise Line explained:
“As we bring this to life, we’ve encountered unexpected delays in the shipbuilding process. To ensure every detail meets the high standards you expect from Disney, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the Disney Adventure’s inaugural sailing to March 10, 2026. We regret that this change will affect upcoming sailings and sincerely apologize for the impact on your vacation plans.”
All cruises between December 15, 2025, and early March 2026 are canceled. Guests booked on the original inaugural sailing will automatically be moved to the new date in March with a fifty percent discount. If that date does not work, they can request a full refund and still receive a fifty percent discount on a future Disney cruise. Passengers booked on other canceled sailings will also receive full refunds plus the same discount, which can be applied to a new cruise through March 2027.
The Disney Adventure is unlike any other ship in the Disney fleet. Originally started as the Global Dream before Disney acquired the unfinished hull in 2022, the 208,000-ton vessel is being transformed into what the company calls a bold new chapter for its cruise line. When complete, it will be the largest ship in the fleet and the first to homeport in Asia under a multi-year agreement with Singapore.
With capacity for more than 6,000 passengers, the ship will feature themed spaces including Marvel Landing, Toy Story Place, and a Moana-inspired Wayfinder Bay. The design has been tailored for the Asian market and will introduce Disney Cruise Line to a brand new audience.
For those who were already planning to be among the first on board, the delay is disappointing. Still, Disney is betting that the extra time will ensure the finished ship delivers the experience guests expect.
