I was astounded by the nominations I received for The Versatile Blogger Award.  It’s an award given by bloggers to bloggers.

First I was nominated by the amazing A Zest for Travel and then by the wonderful Sagittarius Travels. Truly honored to be nominated for anything that pushes positive reinforcement and motivates me to keep doing what I’m doing.

The first time I was nominated was a month ago by A Zest for Travel –  I was shocked. Why me? I don’t understand. It really was the nudge I needed at the time. The speck of light that told me I was doing something right. And then I was nominated recently by Sagittarius Travels, and once again, at a time I needed another push. I may blog, but I do not consider myself a writer. I blog because I want to share my experiences and love I have for travel. So this award means so much! I am incredibly grateful for the acknowledgment.

Side note: Not sure if it is okay to name both of the nominators in the same post, or if I had to do this twice, but here we go.

A Zest for Travel and Sagittarius Travels are both wonderful travel blogs with beautiful photography and great resources. As soon as I see one of their posts, I dive right into reading, and you should too. Their talent for writing about their adventures and making you feel a part of it is truly special. They write about the best of their journeys to the worst of it, which I appreciate for my own future travels. My advice, stop by their blogs and show them some love.

The Rules
  • Thank the person that nominated you for this award.
  • Link their blog to this post.
  • Select UP TO 15 blogs/bloggers that you either regularly follow or discovered recently.
  • Nominate them for this awesome Versatile Blogger Award with links to their sites.
  • Write 7 things about yourself.

7 Thing About Me

1. I’m an introvert.

2. I lived in Puerto Rico during my teen years. That’s where my family’s roots are from.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3. I almost drove off a mountainside riding an ATV in Kualoa Ranch in Oahu. A tree saved me from tumbling down. My husband saw me go over the edge and thought the worse. An angel was watching over me because a tree stopped me from what could have been a horrific tumble. And yes, I have gotten back on ATV again in Costa Rica, no mountains though.

4. I’m a laid back person. I take most things in stride. I try not to let negativity get to me. Life is too short to walk around angry at the world and full of negative energy. Unless if there is a bug, then the world is ending (jk, sort of).

5. If you ever bring me a latte, a chocolate chip cookie, or a cupcake, you are instantly my BFF.  ?

6. Brunch is my favorite meal of the day. Eggs Benedict or Eggs over medium with a side of pancakes, please. ?

7. I freaking hate bugs.

Santa Barbara, CA

  1. Hey!! Darn WordPress wouldn’t let me post my first comment (but your direct site does). First, thank you SO much for the nomination. Second, I loved learning about you. Bugs are definitely not my favorite, and I am so glad that you did not drive off a mountain. UM, I ALSO HAD A WILD ATV STORY IN COSTA RICA…that was pretty much the same. So scary. My husband’s airline regularly flies to PR so the next time we go for fun, I know who to ask for tips. Love your awesome blogging. You deserve all of the nominations!

    • My wordpress app is always acting funky.
And you’re welcome! As I told you before, you have inspired me to try to make time to read again. I used to read a ton, but then I started blogging and that took up all my extra time. Ha.
ATV’s are scary. I am not into motorized vehicles of the sort, but I force myself to be adventurous when traveling. Of course, I learned my lesson that time. Everything around me was just so utterly beautiful that I got distracted and wasn’t really paying attention. I rather be driven around.=D Glad to hear you’re okay from your Costa Rica incident.
My tips for PR… leave the San Juan around. Go west and south! Always can contact me for more tips. Honestly, I need to return myself. We were going to go there last year but then the hurricane hit. Ugh. We had to cancel everything. Anyways, rambling here. Thanks again for your sweet comments!

  2. Great post! I loved learning more about you. That’s so cool that you lived in Puerto Rico! I’m half puertorican on my mom’s side. ?

Your ATV accident sounds so scary! I can’t imagine what your husband was going through in that moment(and of course you ?) but then the sweet relief when he saw you were ok!
You’re brave to get back on one!
    Stay safe! ?

    • Half = full Boricua in my book! Have yo been to PR?
Yes, he was more terrified than I was. I was a little shaky, but I calmed down not long after. They canceled my participation in the tour after that. I told hubby he should go ahead and continue riding. I rode back to the main area to relax. I am pretty reluctant to get back on an ATV every time it is mentioned. He prefers not to for my sake. As long as I’m not going up any mountains, I’m okay with it.
Thanks so much for your comment! Appreciate you stopping by. I wanted to nominated you, but you had just posted your 7 things. Figured, you’d been there and done that. 😉

      • I missed your response back! Oops!
Aww thanks. I’m happy to be Boricua but I wish I knew Spanish. I still need to learn! ? I’ve been to PR once when I was 16. I have to go back!
I can’t imagine how scary that ATV accident must have been. I don’t blame you for being hesitant to go on one.

Thanks for wanting to nominate me! That’s so sweet! ?
